The latest ZeeControls installer can be downloaded from http://www.zettacube.com/Downloads.aspx. All individual products in ZeeControls are included in a single installer.

There are 3 editions of ZeeControls. You can choose an edition based on the target .NET Framework version and whether AJAX functionalities are required. (Licensee of an individual product can use the corresponding product in any of the 3 editions.)

If you want to develop AJAX-enabled applications for any .NET Framework versions, use this combination on your development platform:

VS2008 + .NET Framework 3.5 + MS ASP.NET AJAX Extensions 1.0 + ZeeControls for AJAX 1.0

Setup On The Development Platform

Administrator rights are required and Visual Studio should not be running during the installation.

  1. If required, install MS ASP.NET AJAX Extensions 1.0
  2. If you're using Server 2008 or Vista, install this hotfix to fix a design-time issue:
    KB967535 - IIS 7.0 Request.TransmitFile / Request.WriteFile not working expected
  3. If you're using VS2008, install the following fixes to fix some design-time issues:
    Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1
    KB967253
  4. Installing ZeeControls is straightforward. Just unzip the downloaded file, run the installer (ZeeControlsSetup.exe), and optionally choose another installation folder.

Visual Studio Toolbox

The installation program will automatically create a new tab named "ZettaCube ZeeControls" in Visual Studio Toolbox for the current user.

If Visual Studio is installed after ZeeControls, you may simply reinstall ZeeControls to the same installation folder. The ZeeControls installer will search for all versions of Visual Studio and add a new tab to the VS Toolbox for the current user.

Manually Add ZeeControls to Visual Studio Toolbox

If required, follow the steps below to manually add ZeeControls to the Visual Studio Toolbox.

  1. Right-click any items within the toolbox and select Add Tab.
  2. Name the new tab ZettaCube ZeeControls.
  3. Right-click the new tab and select Choose Items ....
  4. Click Browse in the popup window.
  5. In the Open dialog box, navigate to the ZeeControls installation folder (by default in C:\Program Files\ZettaCube\ZeeControls).
  6. Select ZettaCube.ZeeControls.dll, and click Open.
  7. Click OK to close the Choose Toolbox Items dialog.
